1. Who we are and how to reach us

HULCAN is the trading name of a Lithuanian company. This is who handles your information, and how to reach a human about it.

HULCAN is the store at hulcancookware.com. It is operated by:

UAB Hanzo International
Company code: 308049867
Registered address: Perkūnkiemio str. 19, 12120 Vilnius, Lithuania

Email: hello@hulcancookware.com
Business hours: Mon–Fri, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

When this notice says "we", "us" or "HULCAN", it means UAB Hanzo International. We decide how the personal information described here is collected and used.

2. What this notice covers

It covers the personal information we handle when you use our store, buy from us, or contact us.

This notice applies to hulcancookware.com and to everything that runs through it: browsing the store, placing an order, paying, having it delivered, returning it under the 120-day trial, making a warranty claim, emailing or calling us, posting a review, and receiving our marketing.

Our store runs on Shopify. Prices are in US dollars, and we sell to customers in the United States.

This notice does not cover what other companies do with your information on their own websites and services. When you leave our store, you are covered by their privacy notices, not this one.

3. What personal information we collect

Mostly what you type in to buy something, plus what the trackers on the site record about your visit.

What we collect What that means
Contact and delivery details Your name, email address, shipping address, billing address, and the phone number you give us.
Order and payment details The items you ordered, the amount, the currency, the payment method you chose, the record of the payment, and the record of any refund.
Age confirmation on knife deliveries Knife orders are delivered by signature. The person who accepts the delivery signs to confirm they are 18 or older. That signature and the delivery record come back to us through the carrier.
Messages you send us What you write when you email us or tell us on the phone, including anything you tell us about a return, a trial refund or a warranty claim, and our replies.
Reviews you post The review itself, the name or display name shown with it, and anything else you choose to put in it.
Device and usage information What the trackers on our site record: your IP address, your device and browser type, the pages and products you looked at, how you arrived at the store, what you clicked, what you added to the cart, and whether you completed an order.

4. Where it comes from

From you, from your device, and from the companies that take the payment and deliver the parcel.

From you. Everything you type into checkout, into a sign-up form or into a review, and everything you tell us by email or on the phone.

Automatically from your device. While you browse, the cookies and similar technologies described in sections 6 and 7 collect the device and usage information above.

From the companies that handle payment and delivery. Shopify Payments and PayPal tell us whether a payment went through, was declined, was refunded or was disputed. The carrier tells us where the parcel is, when it was delivered, and, on a knife order, that the person who took delivery signed to confirm they are 18 or older.

5. What we use it for

Running the shop: getting your order to you, taking the money, standing behind the product, and reaching you about it if you asked us to.

We use personal information to:

  • Fulfil your order. Confirm it, pack it, and email you tracking when the parcel ships.
  • Take payment. Process your payment, issue refunds to the original payment method, and collect sales tax on orders shipped to Illinois.
  • Deliver. Give the carrier what it needs to bring the parcel to your address, including arranging the signature and the age-18 confirmation on knife orders.
  • Handle the 120-day trial. Check when your order was delivered, arrange the return shipping we pay for, and process the refund.
  • Handle warranty claims. Honour the lifetime warranty and get a replacement to you.
  • Answer your messages. Reply to what you send us and keep a record of what was agreed.
  • Send marketing email and SMS to people who have asked for them.
  • Advertise. Show our ads to people online and measure whether those ads lead to sales.
  • Screen orders for fraud and defend chargebacks. Check orders for signs of fraud, and investigate and respond to disputed transactions.
  • Keep proper business records. Maintain our order, accounting and tax records.

6. Advertising and analytics

What these companies receive from our store, and what it is for.

  • Meta Pixel. Meta receives a record of what a browser does on our store — the pages and products viewed, items added to the cart, and completed orders — together with the device and usage information described in section 3. We use it to show our ads on Meta's services and to measure whether those ads lead to sales.
  • Google Analytics 4. Google receives information about visits to the store: the pages viewed, how you arrived, your device and browser type, and the actions you took while you were there. We use it to understand how the store is used and to measure our advertising.
  • TikTok Pixel. TikTok receives a record of what a browser does on our store — the pages and products viewed, items added to the cart, and completed orders — together with the device and usage information described in section 3. We use it to show our ads on TikTok and to measure whether those ads lead to sales.
  • Klaviyo. Klaviyo receives your email address, the phone number you give us, your order history, and a record of what you do on the store and what you do with our emails and texts. We use it to send our marketing email and SMS and to decide what to send you.

These companies do not act only for us. They also use what they receive for their own purposes, under their own terms. That is outside our control.

7. Cookies and similar technologies

Small files and tags that let the store work, count visits and support advertising.

Cookies are small files stored on your device by a website. Similar technologies — pixels and tags placed in the pages of the store — work in much the same way: they sit on a page and record that your browser loaded it.

Categories in use on hulcancookware.com:

  • Strictly necessary. These make the store work. They keep your cart, carry you through checkout, and keep the store secure. Without them the store does not function.
  • Analytics. These count visits and record which pages and products people look at, so we can see how the store is being used.
  • Advertising. These record activity so that ads can be shown and their results measured. These are the ones described in section 6.

8. Who we share information with

The companies that help us run the shop, plus the law and, if the business ever changes hands, a buyer.

We share personal information with:

  • Shopify, which is the platform our store runs on and which processes our orders, and Shopify Payments, which takes card payments.
  • PayPal, when you pay with PayPal.
  • Meta, Google and TikTok, through the trackers described in section 6, for advertising and measurement.
  • Klaviyo, which sends our marketing email and SMS.
  • The carriers who deliver your order, which receive your name, address, phone number and email to get the parcel to you, and which take the signature on knife orders.
  • Fraud and chargeback prevention providers, which screen orders for signs of fraud and help us investigate and respond to disputed transactions.

We also use other service providers to run the store.

Lawful requests. We disclose personal information where we are required to by law, by a court, or by a public authority acting within its powers, and where we need to in order to establish or defend a legal claim.

A change in the business. If our business, or the part of it that runs this store, is sold, merged or otherwise transferred, personal information may be transferred with it.

9. Marketing

You get marketing only if you asked for it, and you can stop it whenever you like.

We send marketing email and SMS only to people who have asked for them.

You can stop at any time. Use the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any marketing email, or email hello@hulcancookware.com and ask us to stop. Stopping marketing does not stop the emails we have to send about an order you have placed: order confirmations, shipping and tracking, returns and refunds, and warranty claims.

10. Reviews

A review you post is public. Ask us and we will take it down.

If you post a review, the review and the name or display name shown with it are published on hulcancookware.com, where anyone can read them. Do not put anything in a review that you would not want a stranger to read, including your address, phone number or order number.

If you want your review taken down, email hello@hulcancookware.com, tell us which review it is, and we will remove it.

11. Where your information is handled

We are in Lithuania. You are in the United States. Your information is handled in both.

UAB Hanzo International is established in Lithuania. Our customers are in the United States. Personal information covered by this notice is therefore handled in Lithuania and in the United States. Buying from us, or signing up with us, means your information will cross that border.

12. How long we keep information

As long as the purpose it was collected for is still live, and no longer.

  • Order, payment and tax records are kept for as long as we need them to run the trial and the warranty on that order, and after that for as long as we need them for our accounting and business records.
  • Delivery records, including the signature on a knife order, are kept for as long as we may need them to show that the order was delivered and who accepted it.
  • Return, refund and warranty records are kept while the claim is open, and afterwards as part of the order record. Because the warranty on our products is a lifetime warranty, that can be a long time.
  • Messages you send us are kept while we deal with what you wrote about, and for as long as we need the record of what was agreed.
  • Marketing contact details are kept until you tell us to stop, after which we keep the minimum needed to make sure we do not contact you again by mistake.
  • Fraud and chargeback records are kept for as long as a transaction can still be disputed and for as long as we need them to deal with a dispute.
  • Device and usage information is kept for as long as it is useful for understanding how the store is used and measuring our advertising. It is also held by the companies that operate the trackers described in section 6.
  • Reviews stay published until you or we take them down.

13. Security

We take sensible precautions. Nobody can promise a website is impossible to break into, and we will not pretend otherwise.

Our store runs on Shopify, and card payments are processed by Shopify Payments and PayPal on their own systems. Inside our company, access to customer information is limited to the people who need it to fulfil orders, answer messages, and handle returns and warranty claims.

No website, no service and no method of storing or sending information over the internet is completely secure. We cannot guarantee that personal information will never be reached or disclosed in a way we did not intend.

14. Children

This store is not for children, and a knife order is not handed to one.

hulcancookware.com is intended for adults. Our store is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email hello@hulcancookware.com and we will delete it.

Knife orders are delivered by signature. The person who accepts the delivery signs to confirm that they are 18 or older.

15. Your rights

You can see what we hold, fix it, get a copy, have it deleted, and tell us to stop marketing to you.

You can ask us to:

  • Tell you what we hold about you, and what we do with it.
  • Correct it, if something is wrong or out of date.
  • Delete it, where we do not still need it for an order, a warranty claim, a dispute, or a record we have to keep.
  • Give you a copy of the information you gave us, in a form you can reuse.
  • Stop sending you marketing, at any time and without asking why.
  • Object to our use of your information for advertising.

To make any of these requests, email hello@hulcancookware.com from the address on your order, Monday to Friday, 08:00–17:00. Tell us what you want and we will handle it. We may ask you to confirm who you are first, so that we are not handing your information to someone else.

16. Changes to this notice

If we change it, the date at the top changes with it.

We update this notice as the store changes. The current version is always the one on this page, and the "Last updated and effective" line at the top tells you when it last changed. If a change materially affects how we use information we already hold about you, we will tell you.

17. How to contact us about privacy

One email address, one phone number, one postal address. Any of them reaches us.

If you have a question about this notice, or about how we handle your personal information, contact us:
